(This is an English summary of the German version of a posting I had published on July 18th. Richard Bartholomew did the translation. I had planned to publish the English version much earlier, and Richard had delivered on time, but - being on vacation - I had forgotten about the posting. Apologies!)
Bettina Marx, Tel Aviv radio correspondent for the ARD, sure takes a predictably one-sided position. In a commentary "With blind Rage", dated 7/17/2006, she attacks with blind rage those who are, for her, the truly guilty parties in the set-to between Israel and Hezbollah: Israel and the USA.
In summary, this is the causal chain according to Bettina Marx: Israeli occupation politics delivers fodder for extremist rage - no cease fire because of Condi Rice's cynicism, stupidity and ignorance - Israel concedes no right to exist in freedom and dignity to Lebanon and the Palestinians, but instead starts in with bombs, starvation and humiliation.
It's a logic that can't be beat for cynicism, stupidity, and ignorance. Make no mistake; this is no slip-up from Mrs. Marx. Her commentaries are regularly peppered with insults and innuendos addressed to the Israelis ((1, 2, 3). She cites prime critics of the Israeli government in her reports. On the other hand, her heart is stirred (1) by the troubles of the Hamas Administration.
Our heart is stirred too. To be sure, more by the decades long suffering of the Israelis from the blind rage of Arab terrorists.
Oyyy Vey! With a name like Marx, what can one do? Cry at the Marxist Manifesto or Laugh with the Marx Brothers? I'll squash the former, enjoy the latter.
Not to always be down on German Media, here's an article which gives timely informatoin on Al Qaeda entering into the war with the blessings of.... Iran!
Sa'ad Bin Laden, son of Osama has been, ahmm, "released" to join Hezbollah in Syria and from new terror cells supposedly against Israel. See following link:

This should open Europes eyes. This is truly a global war with terrorist sponsored by multiple rogue nations and religious zealots. Notice where the money comes from and the weapons in these articles.

So where's the kicker? I can't recall a time in Europe when Jews weren't blamed for all that troubles the world. Only difference is during the past few decades the US has shared equal blame.
Bad Jews. Bad Americans. It is our fault that Islamic fundamentalists are killing Thais, Indonesians, Indians, Sudanese, Nigerians... If we only acted like Germans the Islamic fundamentalists wouldn't be angry with us.

That is the problem, people think that Israel is occupying the Golan Heights. Israel took the Golan fair and square in a War that Syria was a part of starting. The Golan belongs to Israel now, case closed.
MSM and fools just don't get it.
Using the fools logic the American Southwest is just being occupied by Americans and it really still belongs to Mexico...... Oh, you mean those fools DO beleive THAT and they are pushing for the return of all land won in wars and settled by treaties to be returned to Mexico!!!
unglaubisch....

Yes, I have heard hate groups like La Raza argue this. If we take it to the logical conclusion, Mexico is being occupied as well and really belongs to the Aztecs.

Libanesen in Berlin
Wo bitte geht's hier zur Hisbollah? (statt Hollywood?

by that logic, silesia still belongs to Germany. now they KNOW they can't say THAT.
BUT they can say Israel should return land that it won in a war.

There is actually a group that really believes that. Of course they completely ignore the fact that the Aztecs were only from a small part of Mexico and subjugated other peoples across the middle of the country.

Here's the short, succinct answer: Survival.

Yup. And furthermore, "Aztec" is another Spanish error on a par with "Indians" (their original belief that they had reached the West Indies). The first tribe they encountered in Mexico were the Aztecs, a small coastal tribe with little political influence in the area, so everyone they met after that were "Aztecs".
The civilization which is now known as the "Aztec Empire" was neither Aztec nor an empire. It was a loose confederacy of trade partners with a common religion, known by an unpronouncable polysyllable that translates to "The One World". And Monteczuma was neither an emperor nor a chief. He was the One World's high priest, the Revered Speaker... a "pope", not a ruler. In retrospect, it's a bit surprising that the Spaniards missed that one, given the power the Pope had over the Spanish government ;). And far from Aztec, the primary tribe were the Mexics... with the Spaniards correcting their initial error by eventually naming the territory Mexico after the REAL bosses of the One World.
