The impotence of the EU has never been more evident. Iran's motto: Castrati non carborundum.

What goes up, must come down
Spinning wheels, got to go round.

"dispel"

Sounds as though they're trying to rid the whole thing of witchcraft.

(Probably only native English speakers will get this. So. A "Spell" is something witches produce, such as a curse. To DIS spell is to remove the spell. Hence 'dispel').

Too late. The EU is cursed.

Isn't Iran just wonderful?

What you DON'T hear anywhere, it seems, is things like this.

Mullahs executes teenage demonstrators in Ahwaz – reports

I need to set down and put all this together in an article. When several dozen innocent people are killed in a terrroristg bombing in Iraq it is shouted from the rooftops as America's Fault.

Opposition reports 62 killed, 1000 arrested in Iran clashes

At least 62 people have been killed and over 1,000 arrested in the week-long clashes between people and security forces in Iran’s southern Khuzestan province, according to the main Iranian opposition group, the People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran.

Fierce fighting has brought the province to a complete stand-still since Friday, when State Security Forces (SSF) opened fire on a 3,000-strong anti-government demonstration in the city of Ahwaz.

The World never hears about.

Ahwaz, Apr. 23 – Iran’s Revolutionary Guards executed a number of teenage demonstrators in the streets of Ahwaz, southern Iran, according to eye-witnesses.

Residents reported that Revolutionary Guards arrested demonstrators in the city streets and gunned them down to terrorise the local people and end a weeklong anti-government uprising that has spread throughout the oil-rich Khuzestan Province.

Helicopters were also seen opening fire on demonstrators.

A 5-year-old boy was killed when he was run over by a Revolutionary Guards’ armoured personnel carrier, eye-witnesses said.

OT - Here's something Germany can be proud of: they have a man ranked #4 in the whole wide world....in Ping Pong!

It's interesting to read what the Mullahs have to say about the EU3. They think we are funny. They think that this is the last chance for the EU3 to play an important role on the world stage. It's more a comedy than anything else. The mullahs are great strategists, much better than the EU. May be also better than Condi. We shall see. Everything on it you can find on this great blog: regimechangeiran.blogspot.com

I don't know. I've heard rumors that Joschka is prepared to issue a stiff Note of rebuke to Iran if they can be proven to have begun enriching bomb materials (but only if the French agree and it has no impact on trade arrangements of course.

This will escalate to a full formal calling home of the German ambassador for consultations should Iran actually test an atomic weapon (but only if the French call their ambassador home first, of course. Depriving the mullahs of the presence of the ambassador, that will show them!

The man is truly a fiend!

EU's phase two of the plan will use intense diplomacy, ie calling people stupid, unsophisticated and/or drunken. We've all seen this in action before. Until the EU (France and Germany being the main "leaders") actually does something, no one is going to take them seriously.

Iran is ready to accelerate its nuclear activities if agreement is not reached quickly with the European Union over the Islamic republic's controversial nuclear program, a chief negotiator said Friday.

"A long-term suspension or an end (to uranium enrichment) is stupid, bad and irrational," Syrus Nasseri was quoted as saying by student news agency ISNA. ... If negotiators from Britain, France and Germany "use threats, the response in terms of threats is perfectly ready", said Nasseri

I'd like to see Condi Rice muster the courage to say what she, the EU, and the the Mad Mullahs all know: It's not just Iran that's negotiating in bad faith; Brussels wants Iran to become a nuclear power so as to counterbalance the strong US presence in the region.

Blair, Chirac, and Schoeder are not trying to contain Iran, because a nuclear-armed Iran is no threat to them. Rather, they're trying to contain George Bush! Given today's geopolitics, it's reasonable to assume that most Europeans would heartily approve.

Would the same amoral EU that's trying to sell weapons to the People's Republic of China also be capable of abetting Iran's nuclear effort? Count on it.

The only real threat posed by Iran from the Blair-Chirac-Schroeder perspective is that of Putin beating them to the punch and ensuring that Iran remains locked in Russia's orbit, thereby robbing the EU of the influence in the (oil-rich) Middle-East they so crave.

Time for the US help Japan go nuclear. The message to Russia and china would be plain, and the logjams would be broken in Iran and N. Korea.

For years now I am flabbergasted by our politicians being led around by everybody else with a long-term agenda! The just seem not to be able to grasp that there are people around which do not always think in four-year terms. Tima and again they try to negotiate with clever madmen to be time and again being pulled across the table - peace in our time!
What a shame!

This isn`t critic what ya do. The word is: polemic.
I mean the Blog authors.

The only counter to the current threat from Pakistan, Iran and North Korea's nuclear ambitions (thank you France & Co) may be to enable all stable democracies. Russia has not secured the vast majority of her nuclear arsenal either, and I'm afraid we cannot put the lid back on this pot. Especially with our current cabal of "friends" helping us. God help mankind.

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran said on Monday it would resume uranium enrichment-related activities within days,

So EU 3 what will you do now? When will you understand as far as Muslims are concerned we are less than half human and have no power or rights. Iran needs nuclear weapons so it can kill us infidel western scum and our culture from satan.

Everyone agrres that Iran should not become a nuclear power.

Where is the concept of the US?
They want not or better can not talk to Iran because they have no diplomatic contact to them.

If you say you can not talk to people like this because you get no positive result anyway.
Fine. Than the option is clear you have to attack. Looking at the postive Iraq example it will a very easy an short victory without many casualties or high costs.
The US army at the moment clearly is in the condition to fight another big war and doesn´t has any problems to get enough troops to do the job in Iraq.

So good luck and a nice war

Frank,

I thought the EU3 were going to make the world safe so this is really a non issue. Right?

Are you telling me the EU power might be a bit limited?

Did not know that.

@ Frank
Iran has been calling the US the "Great Satan" and refusing all diplomatic contact with the US for over 20 years. But you might not see or read that in the German media. Where is your concept of reality? Don't worry about what will happen if Iran goes nuclear once again the US will use it's blood and treasure to defend you. Sit back and relax and watch the "European way" fail again.
