Occasionally we posted cartoons from "Sacred Cow Burgers". Jay is the guy who collects and distributes the cartoons.
Jay's health is not doing well, and I thought I let you know his latest e-mail.
We wish him all the best.
Jay's e-mail:
Hello folks,My apologies that this isn't a notification of a new parody, but I
think this is a necessary note to send in light of the lack of updates to
the Sacred Cow Burgers web site.As many of you may know, I was diagnosed with a rare form of
pancreatic cancer a number of weeks ago. As a consequence, I had to
have surgery on June 10th to remove the tumor. Most of my pancreas was
removed, and my spleen and gall bladder were removed as well.Everything went well with the surgery and my wife and I were
hopeful that we'd seen the worst of the situation. Unforutnately, due to
the nature of the surgery, my immune system was compromised to the
point that I came down with pneumonia and pleurisy. It came on so suddenly
that I had to go through emergency admission at our local hospital. The pneumonia turned out to be more aggressive than anyone could
have guessed. A week after being admitted, I had to have surgery to
remedy the infection and damage to my lung. I'll spare you all the ugly
details of that procedure. Suffice it to say that the surgeons did a fine
job, but the surgery has left me in a diminished capacity with only brief
periods of stamina for any activity. In spite of all this, I remain hopeful that I will be able to
start making parodies again in the near future. But for now, the best I
can do is try to regain my strength so I can breathe easier and walk
without support.I'd like to thank everyone for their prayers and well-wishes
during this difficult time. I hope to repay all your kindness with
renewed vigor once my health permits. For now, all I ask are prayers
for my wife and I that we may prevail in this trying time with the Good
Lord's help. Thanks again to you all. It is your interest and enthusiasm that
makes doing these parodies all worthwhile. God bless...Sincerely,
Jay D. Dyson
Father, may you watch over Jay in his recovery, and grant his wife the strength to help in his full return to health.
