What German names have appeared?

I had only seen a few weeks ago the Al-Mata list - almost every Western nation, but no Germany on there.

Is there a more up-to-date list somewhere?

The German oil companies were clever enough to cover their tracks. They bought oil from Iraq as well as other oil companies. They bought from those who bought directly from Iraq. Klink tries to state that the Germans aren't on this list, I say that they will be found on the lists of those who then sold this ill gotten oil for a higher profit, but still under normal market prices, to Germany. Thus, the Germans share in the guilt of Iraqi oil for food scandal also.

Please no secondary-interpretation-tone. I didn't "try to state", but I clearly stated I could not find Germany on the one al-Mata-List I had seen.

Tx for your other approach - yeah, it might be something like this, too (as Germany's largest supplier is Russia AFAIK). But I still wouldn't be surprised if some Germans profited directly as well, considering previous trade-scandals over here in dealings with Saddam - with almost every other Western nation on this list, it makes little sense IMO to see no German.

May I guess? You have "evidence"? Like for the WMD? Or is it just one more educated guess?

Does it really matter if there are Germans on the list or not.

What does matter is that this is the organization which France and Germany want to run Iraq. Given the track record of the UN one has to wonder just why Germany and France are demanding this.

Do they truly want to see Iraq become a failure?

It would appear that they do!

Which German oil company?
ARAL (belongs to BP)? BP (british)? Shell (british/dutch)? Jet (ConocoPhillips - american)? AGIP (italian)? TOTAL (french)? ESSO (EXXON)?

There simply is no "german" oil company.
And IMO it doesn't make sense to create a conspiracy theory out of that. It would be on the same like the leftwing Europeans with THEIR "it was all about oil"-rubbish. We are talking about dirty money that overall is a fraction of each WorldCom, Enron, Parmalat, MobilCom insolvency.
You bribe politicians when you want them to go in a different direction than they would go without your bribery. When little Schroeder is having an election with 75 % of the voters not willing to support US in Iraq - why pay for a way he would eagerly take anyway? He would sell his mother for winning an election, what does the american-german climate then mean to him (btw: I don't think that Bush is different, but that's not my business).
