This is an excellent post, David!

This is another glaring example of misplaced compassion. Thousands of murdered souls are crying out for justice but won't be heard. And, now for the next eighteen months, we will be asked to see the validity in a madman's excuses for his brutal behavior. Wanna bet, Saddam doesn't show remorse or repent for his sins, not even once? We already know his response, he's willing to negotiate...Well, so is the UN... Let's hope the Iraqi Geoverning Council isn't.

Es schockt mich tief, daß sich hier wieder ein Professor und sogar noch der juristischen Fakultät als dämlich outet.

Andere sehen das anders als der Herr Professor Wesel. Man lese dazu den Kommentar von Hanspeter Born in der Weltwoche 51/03 (www.weltwoche.ch) mit Äußerungen der renommierten Völkerrechtlerin Ruth Wedgwood zum Thema der Bestrafung Saddams, Titel "Recht auf Todesstrafe".
