Disaster for the Social Democratic Party (SPD) of Chancellor Schroeder
On Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, the Social Democratic Party had dramatic losses in regional elections in the state of Brandenburg (in East Germany). The SPD halved it's result compared with 1998. Strongest party in Brandenburg is now the conservative CDU, followed by the PDS (former communist party of East Germany), and the SPD is now only in third place (1998: first place) with 20 % of the votes.

N. Klaric: you're right - it has nothing to do with media watch. Now and then I add some news stuff that might interest our US visitors.
BTW: didn't say the SPD results had anything to do with Schroeder's anti-American attitude. All I'm saying is: anti-Americanism didn't help. So that's good news. Schadenfreude? Hmmm... maybe.
