Not all of the media mourn Said's death. Please check out this morning's opinion piece, written by Ibn Warrag (Wall Street Journal: Sept. 29, 2003).

According to Warraq, Said did more to provide the "intellectual" justification to Islamic (global) anti-Americanism than any other scholar/writer. Basically, Said's food was the most satisfying to the anti-Western left here in the West. The article did not say how many people in the Middle East actually read Said. Middle Eastern readers would probably be surprised to learn that "Orientalism" was an American undergraduate's primary encounter with Islam.

What a totalitarian mind has written these lines? I am absolutely gobsmacked.
