Khaled Al-Masri: The Unluckiest Innocent Man in Germany?

Khaled Al-Masri is the German media's poster boy for wild accusations against the U.S. government's international hunt of terrorists. In connection with the Al-Masri case the German left-wing weekly SPIEGEL wrote:

In Germany, the information on el-Masri isn’t even enough for authorities to launch an investigation. The situation in the United States is completely different, though: Following Sept. 11, US President George W. Bush has authorized American agents to act outside of all internationally accepted legal norms in the fight against terror.

This quote is taken from an article from John Rosenthal's in PoliticsCentral. John sheds light on some of the lesser known facts about Al-Masri, such as his connections to Islamists movements. Of course, critical assessments of Al-Masri's actions are rare in the German media.
