It's a tradition at STERN, one of Germany's leading left-wing, anti-American magazines: being a victim of a hoax!
This time STERN fell for a nice photoshop joke in connection with a Muslim demonstration in London. Here is the original, true picture:

Y'know, just this once, I'm tempted to cut Stern a break. This is one case where the phrase "fake but accurate" might actually apply. It's well within the hypocrisy capability of Islamofacism to make exactly the statement that the Photoshopped sign made.

Stern cannot even fact check a simple thing as an altered photograph? They have graphic arts departments who could quickly check this "work." No, the real issue is their editorial staff defies due diligence: they don't exercise simple checks before running this to print. We know their graphics arts department is familure with such work, look over in the right hand column "Wie Amerika die Welt belog."
You think they would have learned following their catastrophic release of the Hitler diaries...
